St Anne's Arch

From St John's Square we walk to Piñuelas Square where, turning right, crossing through a brick groin vault under one of the towers of Postigo, we reach the former small gate, currently enlarged, known as St Anne's Arch.

St Anne's Arch

It was a small side gate of the city wall which was turned into a entrance gate in 18th century. Inside, over the arch, there's a niche containing a statue of St Anne.

The small square, the arch, the slope rampart walk, the façades and towers of manor houses and the patina of the rammed-earth Almohade wall in this area, give a singular strenght and charming to the place, leaving a mark on the visitor's soul.
