Palace of Golfines de Arriba

Palace of Golfines de Arriba is a 15th century Gothic mansion. Its keep was built in the early 16th century with special licence to crenellate granted by the King Ferdinand the Catholic.

The palace inside keeps a two floor arched courtyard on all sides, with a beautiful balustrade on the upper floor.

The side of the palace which rises on the St Anne's Square and the Almohad rampart walk was the old manor house of the family Saavedra del Postigo, which still preserves lopped towers, one of which, in the square, still shows an impressive machicolation supported by three courses of corbels.
