Mudejar House

Mudejar House, from 14th century, is a nice example of Mudejar art in Cáceres as well as one of the few testimonies of it. The use of red brick and saw-tooth decoration are outstanding characteristics of this artistic style.

Its façade has two parts: the lower one is in stone masonry and the upper one is in red brick. It's remarkable its mullioned window with pointed horseshoe arches, the mullion of it was made in granit, topped with a inverted-truncated-pyramid-shape capital. This area of the façade is highly decorated with geometric patterns made by the arrangements of the bricks, so some zig-zag patterns and small windows can be seen until the house boundary.

The originality of its construction was determinant to be declared Spanish National Monument in 1931.
